Marielle LaFave
2014 Marielle loves making things! She recently learned how to sew using scraps of fabric her neighbor gave her. Marielle's brother, Anselm went to Haiti 2013 and told her about the girls there who had similar passions. After his trip, discussions about the job options for the kids there came up often in their house. She raised over $2000 to hire local sewing teachers to train the older girls at the orphanage in the skills they'd need to become seamstresses. |
Kaulin Achim
2014 Kaulin raised over $16,000 for the Oregon Football Association, an organization which reconnects University of Oregon football players through mentoring and coaching local youth both in life and football. The money Kaulin raised will go toward OFA football camp scholarships for underpriveleged kids and bring about bigger opportunities for the children attending camp. |
Clara Michaux
2014 Clara has always had a giving heart. When she had heard about the new mattresses that the children at the Maranatha House orphanage had recevied, she wanted to be a part of that too! At first, she wanted to build them new bed frames - but because of size limitations, she decided to stick to fundraising for new sheet sets. She worked hard to raise over $400 to provide 40 new sets of sheets for all of the kids. |
The Other Side of Basketball
2014 The Other Side of Basketball (TOSOB) partnered with Kidstarter to give 50 Multnomah County foster kids four memorable experiences. The sponsored four events that included: an evening of bowling & arcade games , a basketball clinic, a college experience & football game at Oregon State University, and a Thanksgiving service event in addition to a Thanksgiving dinner. |
Aiden Morga
2014 Five year old, Aiden, was driven by a passion to help people. He partnered with an orgnaization called Twiced Cleansed, which sells soap. The women who make the soap have been rescued from sex-trafficing, and the proceeds from the soap sales also help combat sex-trafficing. Aiden and Twice Cleansed raised money to put a child through school in Haiti. |
Tyler & Carter Mack
2014 Twins, Tyler and Carter were 6 year old when they took on their first fundraiser challenge. Blessed themselves with family and many things taken for granted, they thought it would be special to help a young boy who is not as fortunate. From washing cars and yardwork, to baking and selling cookies, these boys raised over $300 to help send Jom Ali to school in Haiti! |
